Strategic Advisor | Mining Sector Reforms and Economic Development

TROTH N. SAINDI is a distinguished geologist and mining sector strategist with 19 years of transformative experience across Africa’s mineral resource value chain. His expertise positions him uniquely to drive value for the Stresemann Innovation Group’s portfolio by empowering governments, regulatory authorities, and state-owned enterprises to unlock sustainable mining-driven economic growth. A trusted advisor to public and private stakeholders, Mr. Saindi bridges technical excellence with policy innovation.

His deep understanding of mineral exploration, resource development, and production is complemented by a proven track record in shaping regulatory frameworks and institutional reforms. As a former contributor to policy formulation with South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), he brings first-hand insight into designing governance structures that balance investor confidence, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment.

Troth brings great value in the following areas a) Regulatory and Governance Expertise: A Certified SACNASP Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat) and Fellow of the Geological Society of South Africa (FGSSA), he is equipped to advise on compliance, mineral resource management and classification using internationally accepted reporting codes such asSAMREC, JORC, NI 43 101, and global best practices for transparent, equitable mining sectors. b) End-to-End Project Leadership: Successful management of exploration-to-production projects (PGMs, heavy rare earths, critical metals), enabling governments to convert mineral potential into bankable assets while mitigating operational risks. c) Pan-African

Strategic Insight: Current Country Director for ASX-listed DY6 Metals in Malawi, spearheading critical metals exploration. This cross-border experience equips him to navigate diverse regulatory landscapes and align national priorities with regional economic integration. d) Capacity Building and Partnerships: Adept at fostering public-private collaborations, training institutions, and state-owned enterprises to build technical, managerial, and governance capabilities for long-term sector resilience.

In various capacities, Troth has designed and executed exploration strategies for AIM-listed Bushveld Minerals (2013–2023), directly contributing to resource monetization and mine development in Southern Africa. He has also advised DMRE on policy frameworks to enhance South Africa’s mining competitiveness, emphasizing ESG integration and local value addition. Of further note is his pioneering of heavy rare earth exploration in Malawi, addressing global supply chain diversification—a model replicable for African nations targeting strategic mineral industrialization.

Troth’s academic credentials—an MSc in Economic Geology (University of Witwatersrand) and BSc Honours (University of Johannesburg)  underpin his ability to merge geoscientific rigor with macroeconomic strategy. For the Stresemann Innovation Group, he offers a rare blend of technical mastery, regulatory acumen, and on-the-ground experience to advance mining sector reforms, attract ethical investment, and transform mineral wealth into inclusive, sustainable prosperity for African economies.
