Dr. Eman Shady

Eman Shady is a dynamic researcher and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) professional with a career that spans over 19 years across business consulting, non-governmental organizations, and the public sector. Holding a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Faculty of Economic and Political Science at Cairo University, Eman is currently pursuing her master’s in Evaluation at Saarland University in Germany. Her extensive experience and commitment to enhancing organizational performance through result-based management make her an invaluable addition to the Stresemann Innovation Group, where the mission is to empower governments and agencies through innovative research.

At the core of Eman’s career is her exceptional ability to develop effective M&E systems, enabling her to identify and analyze the root causes of challenges that organizations face. She is dedicated to providing actionable recommendations that not only support organizational improvement but also create lasting value for communities. Her impactful work in both academic and development sectors has established her as a leading researcher capable of connecting with various stakeholders to promote social impact.

One of Eman’s notable accomplishments was her role as Evaluation Manager at Creativo Designs for Consultancies, where she successfully led evaluation and assessment projects involving diverse stakeholders from private and public sectors, NGOs, international organizations, and UN agencies. As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Coordinator at Plan International Egypt, she implemented pivotal projects that elevated Egypt’s PMERL KPI status from Amber to Green, established a high-quality M&E system, secured multiple ethical approvals for MERL initiatives, and enhanced the capacity of Peer Educators.

Additionally, during her tenure at Save the Children International, Eman contributed to the establishment of an extensive project database and set indicators for a significant USAID project. Her proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, STATA, EXCEL, NVivo, and R, combined with her expertise in experimental study design and program management, underscores her strong methodological background. Eman also possesses practical skills in program design, implementation, monitoring and reporting, capacity building, and mentoring, supported by three project management certifications.

Eman’s academic credentials were further enhanced through her teaching experience at the American University in Cairo (AUC), her studies at Saarland University, and her participation in the IPDET course at Bern University, where she deepened her knowledge of rights-based programming theories. This diverse set of experiences uniquely positions her to lead the research efforts at the Stresemann Innovation Group, aligning strategic initiatives with broader social objectives.
